Acne Laser Treatment – Are You Interested In Laser Surgery for Acne?

Thursday, December 31st, 2009
Mike Singh asked:

There are so many options for acne treatment on the market. On one end there are several different types of medication and topical treatments, on the other there are various different natural or organic products. But, do all these products work? Well, most of these products do deliver on their promises. But, the key point being that there is no one size fits all solution in the area of acne treatment. This is understandable because everyone doesn’t have the same skin type either. To address these needs various different laser treatment providers have sprung up all over the place.

A quick recap of how pimples are formed

Our skin has tiny pores connected to oil producing glands underneath the skin. These glands produce oils that moves dead skin cells to the skin surface. The ‘pipe’ that is connecting the pore to the gland clog up due to excess oil production. This results in the formation of pimples. There are different varieties of this problem and each has a different name – blackheads, whiteheads, acne vulgaris, acne rosacea etc. You will definitely want to consult a dermatologist to understand your condition.

Now, coming back to our main discussion. The procedure for the laser treatment is fairly straightforward. A very powerful, high-speed and extremely accurate laser is controlled by the laser technician. So, what does the beam do? The beam destroys the specific excess oil producing glands that are under the skin and destroy any existing bacteria in these areas.

Sounds simple enough. Now, you might be wondering if this is all there is to it. Well of course not. As with any other medical procedure you should be aware of certain drawbacks of laser treatment.

* At times, one treatment isn’t enough. It’s hard to predict whether all the excess oil producing glands and bacteria have been taken care of. So, you might have to go through the procedure a couple of times till you are able to achieve the desired result.

* The other problem is that this treatment is expensive. The cost ranges depending on the experience of the provider, quality of the laser facilities etc. So, bear in mind that this might not be a one-time deal when you are shopping for laser treatment providers.

So, there you have it. Both sides of the story. While it is easy to measure the drawbacks in monetary terms, it is hard to measure how much the self-esteem of the individual is raised once this procedure is completed successfully. That feeling is one word – priceless!

Free Acne Medication – Skin Perfection MD Product Review

Thursday, December 31st, 2009
Michael B West asked:

Proactiv may have worked for P. Diddy, but for the rest of us, should we try something different? I recently ordered Skin Perfection M.D. which I found through a Google search as a “Free acne medication.” The original search was honestly a search for a home remedy, but when I came across Skin Perfection, I had to give it a try.

My acne has been an issue for me since I was fairly young, probably around 15 years old. The cycle of acne treatment usually goes something like this: have a break out, try a product, see minimal result, quit using product, have another bad breakout. Occasionally I find something that works, and when I do, I like to share it with others. Skin Perfection M.D. is one of those products I’ll file in the “working” slot, so let the sharing begin.

There are a number of things I really like about Skin Perfection M.D.:

First, I had really great results with the product. My latest acne outbreak wasn’t conquered by using the normal grocery store products, so when I begin to results in a couple of days, I was thoroughly impressed. After 2 weeks of using this product I found that my acne outbreak was almost completely clear.

Second, convenience is always a plus. It was a mail order product that came with several different items. It took about a week to receive. Reordering has been easy.

Third, cost. They offer the first 30 days for free, although I did pay $9.95 shipping and handling. But even with the shipping fees, that first 30 days was much less than some of their competitors products. And additional orders have no been overly expensive either. I also should mention that the original “30 day supply” lasted me closer to 45 days. And that was following the instructions to a T. I imagine you could make it stretch even longer if you really wanted to do so.

Last, ease of use was nice. Skin Perfection came with detailed instructions that were easy to follow. Everything was labeled properly and easy to use.

Overall, I give this product a good review. Definitely worth a shot if your dealing with eczema and want to try something new.

Acne Information and Chemical Peels

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009
William Scarmardo asked:

Nearly everyone gets acne. No matter what your race or age may be, acne is a universal problem. Over 80% of people between the ages of 11 and 30 have some type of acne breakout in their lifetime. While acne usually dissipates by the time most of us reach our 30’s, some people experience adult acne well into their thirties and possibly longer.

Baby acne is also not entirely uncommon. Baby acne most often occurs a few weeks after your child’s birth. While it may alarm you, the most important thing to remember is: Don’t panic. The condition will usually go away on its own. You can help your baby’s skin by not using creams or oils and try to avoid over-scrubbing their faces. It’s probably safe to say that the acne is not bothering your baby, so try not to let it bother you. Baby acne should go away in 4 to 6 months as your child’s hormones level out.

In case you were wondering, the scientific name for acne is acne vulgaris, which sounds just dreadful but literally means “common acne.” This is the type of acne that affects more teenagers and adults later in life, and is not to be confused with Rosacea. Cystic acne occurs when your skin glands become plugged with oil causing lesioned outbreaks commonly referred to as pimples or zits. Pimples occur on the face, neck, shoulders, back, and chest, but acne on the arms and legs are not unusual.

Many myths are often associated with acne. For example, there is little evidence that chocolate or greasy foods have any involvement in development of acne nodules. Another common misconception is that dirty skin and poor hygiene causes acne, however, it’s normally an allergic reaction to bacteria in your pores that can cause acne and unfortunately, scrubbing won’t solve the problem.

What we know for sure about acne is that it is caused by hormonal changes in adolescents and young adults, but the exact reason why some people get acne and others don’t, or why some people get much worse acne breakouts than others is unknown. We do know that acne is at least partially hereditary, which speaks more to a genetic predisposition and not something that can be physically changed or altered in your every day routine. However, when dealing with existing acne there are acne treatments available to you that will certainly help your active acne.

Since the causes of acne are still somewhat unclear, the treatments for acne vary. It’s good to keep in mind that while some acne treatments really do work, not all acne treatments work the same for everyone. What is successful for controlling acne with one person might not necessarily be effective for someone else. Successful acne treatments and acne products include topical bactericidals, topical and oral antibiotics, hormonal treatments for women, topical retinoids (Retin-A), or oral retinoids (such as Accutane or Claravis). Retinoids work by influencing the lifecycle of the cells related to acne. Solutions for fighting acne while building stronger, healthier skin include IPL Photofacial, Blue Light Therapy, Thermage, Laser Skin Rejuvenation, Chemical Peels, and Microdermabrasion.

Acne Home Remedy – Treating Acne With Green Tea

Monday, December 28th, 2009
Ryan Tompson asked:

Finding the right acne home remedy can be difficult for most people because they lack the knowledge and know how to properly treat acne using only all natural treatments. All natural acne home remedies have been used for centuries for acne care. They have been proven time and time again to work. My personal best all natural acne medication that worked for me has to be treating acne with green tea. Before we discuss the effects on how green tea gets rid of your acne, I want to share with you 4 easy steps to use in conjunction with treating acne with green tea.

1. Do not touch your face –

I cannot stress this enough, please do not touch your face if at all possible. Take it from me, I guarantee you will see a difference in the amount of acne you have just by having some discipline not to touch your face.

2. Hair off your face –

By keeping your hair off your face as much as possible it will cut down on the amount of bacteria and germs that gather on your hair then transfer to your face everyday. This greatly increases your acne and by eliminating your hair touching your face, this will drastically cut down on your acne.

3. Wipe your cell phone off before you use it –

Cell phones have taken over the World. They are dirty, been dropped on the ground, borrowed, and in your pocket with filthy money. This transfers bacteria to your face. I had severe acne on both sides of my face by my ears and I eventually realized it was because of my cell phone. I now carry anti-bacterial wipes and wipe off my cell phone almost before every use.

Green Tea and Acne

As compared to other types of teas, green tea is not fermented and instead, steamed soon after the leaves have been pulled off the tree in order to prevent the oxidation and preserve the lively substances inside the leaves.

Green tea’s antioxidants have been shown to be highly beneficial to acne prevention. These antioxidants help your body to fight against bacteria that causes damage to cells and tissues in your body. Green tea healing is less toxic and has a smaller amount or no side effects as compared to other drug based products. Green tea can be purchased at any grocery store for very cheap. Anyone can afford green tea so there is no excuse for not trying it or taking it.

In conclusion, there are many home acne remedy treatments out there, finding the right one is the hardest part. Using the 4 easy steps I presented in conjunction with green tea, your acne will significantly drop, if not disappear all together. I have been using these steps for years which in the long run will help from ever having acne laser treatment or acne scar treatment. There is also no better acne adult treatment out there then using green tea for your acne care.

Acne Spots Treatments – Powerful and Natural Ways To Cure Acne

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009
Charles S. Spencer asked:

Are you looking for acne spots natural treatments? If so, I have the information you need to naturally treat acne spots. There are probably hundreds of natural treatments, but in this article, it is my goal to show you several tried and tested, effective natural treatments. Let’s begin.

Tea Tree Oil

Probably the most famous natural method to treat acne is by applying a small amount of tea tree oil directly onto the acne spots. Tea tree oil has long been regarded as a topical antiseptic in Australia. Some active components in tea tree oil are found to be able to slow the growth of acne-causing bacterias. It is also found in several studies that tea tree oil is useful even in severe condition. Tea tree oil is cheap, safe and effective so, if you have acne spots, you can safely use tea tree oil to improve your condition.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy, in some cases, is reported to be beneficial in treating acne. If your stress is causing your condition to seem worse, you can use aromatherapy to relieve the stress built up in your body and regulate your immune system, thus clearing your acne spots. Aromatherapy uses essential oils extracted from plants, and are either inhaled or applied directly on the skin.

Sleep More

Although there is no scientific proof that backs this method up, some people with acne reported that their conditions have improved by 40% or more after sleeping more than eight hours a day.

Diet and Eating Habits

You are definitely what you eat. If you maintain a healthy diet, it is highly unlikely that you get severe conditions. Foods to avoid include foods that contain food additives, huge amount of fats, and food coloring. Reduce the amount of food that contains those elements. Meanwhile you can improve your condition by eating more vegetables, fruits and yogurt. These three kinds of food all share the same ability to detoxify you body.

By eating more fruits and vegetables, you are also taking in more vitamins such as vitamin A, C and E, which are all beneficial to your skin condition. Vitamin A, C and E are proved to be able to treat or at least improve your acne condition. Vitamin C helps in repairing scars, and Vitamin E promotes the general health of the skin.

In this article, I have just shown you some of the most effective acne spots natural treatments. By applying the advice above, you might not be able to see instant results, but it is almost a sure thing that in the long run, your acne spots will be gone.

Acne Remedy – Thing You Should Know About Treating Acne

Sunday, December 20th, 2009
Lynn Winters asked:

For several decades acne has been treated with all kinds of creams and lotions, medications, laser therapies but not many people take advantage of the existing home remedies for acne. As for many other illnesses there are certain herbs that are proven to cure acne and make a much clearer and tone skin.

Herbal remedies for acne. Lots of acne products are available on the market these days but not many people know which ones are right to use. Certain herbs have proved to be a lot more effective in the battle with acne than others. Chamomile, lavender, dandelion root and bergamot are some of the most frequently used herbs in all sorts of creams and face lotions. These plants not only contain substances that can help you stop acne from spreading but they can even help you cure acne completely if they are used for a longer period of time. Other herbs like poke root which is an anti-inflammatory herbal medicine and hazel that is known as the best natural-astringent are also used as acne remedies for the past two decades.

Apart from the herbal remedies for acne there are some rather easy techniques to help cure acne. Washing your face at least twice a day using a non-oily face wash or soap will give results in less than 30 days. This will help you stop the acne infection from spreading all over the face. After washing your face you should use a clean wipe to dry your face and apply an oil rich in vitamins and Aloe Vera. There are certain acne lotions that are specially designated to use after you wash your face. Stay away from any chemical cosmetics that can even worsen your condition.

Even if many people think that eating lots of chocolate, ice cream and other high-caloric foods can worsen their acne you should know that this is nothing but another myth and it will never aggravate the skin condition. No matter if you are an adult or a teen, acne has a bad impact on your confidence and it can even make you depressed or anxious, therefore finding a good remedy for acne is the short answer to your skin problems.

Acne – Do’s and Don’ts of Curing Acne

Sunday, December 20th, 2009
Philip Tucker asked:

With 80% of the population suffering from acne at some point in their lives it is not surprising that the internet is awash with instant cures. Most commonly you see advertisements for creams and cleansers which claim to deliver you from your painful and embarrassing affliction

But most of these products don’t cure acne. They don’t deal with the causes of acne. They merely attempt to deal with the symptoms of acne, unable to cope with the fresh bacterial infections lurking under the skin which will break out in new spots and pimples, undeterred by any cream. Even if a cream is helpful for one person it may not have the same effect on another person and could make the skin worse for that person.

Acne is all about changes in hormones which is why acne is so often turbulent during the teenage years. You can help to reduce or even eliminate outbreaks of acne if you discover how to keep your body ‘in balance’ and therefore keep acne at bay. You can cure your acne naturally from the ‘inside-out’, not by applying some external ‘miracle cure’.

Here are some simple tips about natural remedies for acne.

Do:

Exercise. Exercising three times a week helps keep your body in balance and reduces unnatural stress, one of the principal generators of excessive hormonal activity leading to acne.

Maintain a healthy diet. Eat lots of fresh or frozen vegetables. Vegetables are the source of many of the essential nutrients which a healthy body needs. These nutrients also help balance your hormones which in turn reduce the tendency of the skin to erupt in acne.

Drink water. Drinking lots of water will prevent your body from becoming dehydrated and will help keep your body and consequently your hormones in balance.

Reduce stress. I have known otherwise healthy adults break out with severe acne when enduring severe stress during a marital breakdown or facing redundancy at work. Exercise or stress reducing methods such as meditation or yoga can certainly help. If the stress is really bad you may need professional help.

Wash yourself thoroughly but gently. Don’t scrub. Scrubbing will remove too much of the skin’s natural oils causing the skin glands to respond by over-producing skin oil, one of the principal causes of acne. For the same reason dry yourself with a clean towel carefully rather than vigorously. Don’t use alcohol based cleaners as these will wipe out the natural skin oils leading the skin glands to react with over-production of skin oil.

Remove makeup thoroughly. Especially at night be sure to clean off all your makeup as leaving it there will help clog up the pores in your skin and create a breeding ground for acne. Use cosmetic products which are ‘non-comedogenic’ or ‘non-oil’.

Don’t:

Pick those pimples. Tampering with your spots with your fingers will help spread the infection wider and possibly deeper which could result in some far more painful acne cysts or permanent scarring. Keep your hands away from an infected face. Allow the ‘inside-out’ methods of restoring your body to its natural balance to work.

Eat bad foods. Vegetable oils have been shown to contribute to hormonal activity. Vegetable oils are commonly fond in junk foods and snacks. Seriously reducing your consumption of these oils will have a significant beneficial effect on your acne. Be careful to reduce your consumption of processed sugar found in tinned vegetables, ready-made meals and soft drinks.

Drink too much alcohol. I know from personal experience in the past that drinking excessive quantities of my favorite drink, red wine, has many alarming consequences, including inflammation of the skin and outbreaks of acne. I learned now how to deal with that and the consequence was a dramatic improvement in my overall health and my acne.

You can cure your acne through natural remedies. These remedies tackle the causes of acne, not just the symptoms. I urge to to choose the natural way to re-balance your body
